MIAMI (January 18, 2018) -- FIU Captured its third-straight home victory and did so in front of 2,151 screaming fans Thursday, with a 57-54 over visiting LA Tech on Education STEP Day at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center. The win, the first for the Panthers in 12 tries against the Lady Techsters, gives FIU a winning Conference USA record for the first time since January 15, 2014. FIU is now 6-12 overall, 3-2 in C-USA. LA Tech slips to 12-6, 3-2 in league games. FIU has beaten two teams with better than .750 winning marks in its previous two home games and wins three in a row at home for the first time since the end of the 2012 calendar year.
