MIAMI (May 25, 2022) – FIU's Karissa Kilby is heading to the 77th U.S. Women's Open after shooting a two-under-par 142 at the Hawaii Sectional Qualifying.
Kilby becomes the youngest Panther ever to qualify for a major and the first Panther since Meghan MacLaren in 2017 to compete in the tournament.
The Honolulu, Hawaii native was named the Conference USA Co-Freshman of the Year earlier this month.
Kilby collected four Top 20 finishes during her freshman campaign that was highlighted by a tied for fifth finish at the FIU-hosted Pat Bradley Invitational in October and a t9 placing at the C-USA Championships in April.
