IRVING, TEXAS (November 28, 2016) -- Following the first win of the season for FIU on Sunday over Robert Morris, Panther freshman Alexis Gordon (Palm Bay, Florida / Covenant Christian HS) was named Monday the Conference USA Freshman of the Week, announced by the league office.
Gordon scored a season-high 21 points in her first career start last Tuesday night at home against Georgetown and was named to the All-Tournament Team of the FIU Thanksgiving Tournament on Sunday, following FIU's victory and overtime loss on Friday in Miami. Gordon nailed six three-point baskets, a team season-high, and added six assists in 39 minutes against the Hoyas on Tuesday.
