MIAMI (Jan. 3, 2016) – The FIU swimming and diving team hosted the 2016 FIU Sprint Invite on Sunday, Jan. 3, from the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center, completing the nine-team meet with a second-place finish.
The Panthers (527) finished behind Big Ten foe Purdue (758.5). Following the Panthers were Duquesne (439.5), Indian River State (326), Florida Atlantic (156), Keene State (61), Wheeling Jesuit (23), Berry College (20) and Saint Rose (14).
Sophomore Naomi Ruele claimed a first-place finish in the 100-yard Backstroke with a time of 58.15. Sophomore Skye Carey finished two spots behind Ruele with a time of 58.
