IRVING, Texas (April 29, 2016) – Senior Carlotta Orlando, junior Nina Nagode, sophomore Nerma Caluk and freshmen Maryna Veksler and Andrea Lazaro were recognized by Conference USA, collecting a total of nine awards the league announced on Friday.
Veksler was named C-USA Freshman of the Year and a First-Team All-C-USA selection. The native of Kiev, Ukraine ended her first season with the Panthers with a 26-9 overall mark (11-5 dual). She won all 11 dual matches at the No. 1 position with 19 of her 26 overall wins in straight sets.
