MIAMI (Feb. 25, 2016) -- The FIU men's soccer team headed to Zoo Miami Saturday, Feb. 13, for the Fifth Annual RunWild 5K. The RunWild 5K is a competitive and family-fun run through the local zoo to raise proceeds for the Chapman Partnership, a private sector partner of the Miami-Dade Homeless Trust. The Chapman Partnership provides services to empower homeless residents to become self-sufficient.
The event saw nearly 2,000 participants and 200 volunteers, including the Panthers, who helped throughout the walk and with the award ceremony. "The crowd really loved [the FIU soccer team] … especially when they started to whip and nae-nae," laughed Heather Wilson, volunteer specialist for the Chapman Partnership.
