KAPOLEI, Hawaii (Oct. 31, 2018) – For the first time since the 2016 FIU Pat Bradley Invitational, the FIU women's golf team are champions. As a team, the Panthers shot a 287 in Wednesday's winner-take-all round at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational after Tuesday's opening day was rained out.
Valentina Gilly and Carolina Andrade led the Panthers to victory by both firing two-under par 70s. The sophomore duo finished a shot behind Sam Houston State's Hannah Alberto to finish in a tie for second overall.
Agueda Cortilla finished in a tie for 13th after carding a 72 in en route to help secure a Panthers victory.
