MIAMI (May 8, 2021) - The FIU baseball team took the opening game of its series with 14th-ranked Louisiana Tech, as the Panthers and Bulldogs split Saturday's doubleheader.
FIU and LA Tech resumed play in the fourth inning on Saturday, after Friday night's game was postponed due to heavy rain. Despite trailing 4-1, the Panthers scored eight unanswered on Saturday afternoon and rallied for a 10-5 victory over the ranked Bulldogs. The ranked win for FIU was its highest since upsetting No. 12 Southern Miss in 2018.
Seth Cannady led the Panthers at the plate in game one, earning three hits, a pair of doubles and three RBI.
