MIAMI (Feb. 27, 2021) – After dropping the first half of Saturday's doubleheader, the FIU baseball team bounced back in game two with a gutsy 8-4 victory over the Miami (OH) RedHawks.
With the win, the Panthers improve to 4-2 on the year. Sunday's series finale against the RedHawks is set for Noon.
Freshman Matt Fernandez tossed five shutout innings and struckout five batters to earn his first-career win on Saturday.
The Panther bats, led by Adrian Figueroa and Christian Eiroa, came alive in the nightcap to score eight runs.
