MIAMI (Feb. 17) - FIU baseball earned its first victory of the season against Stony Brook by a score of 13-2, thanks in large part to a great second inning on Sunday afternoon at FIU Baseball Park.
The Panthers' record improves to 1-2 on the young season, while Stony Brook drops to 2-1.
FIU's Christian Santana earned the win after pitching four and two-thirds scoreless innings. Stony Brook's Jared Milch took the loss after allowing seven runs in one and two-thirds innings.
Freshman Jarrett Ford had an outstanding day leading off for the Panthers, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
