Marks Gittens' second career C-USA Freshman of the Week honor.
DALLAS, Texas – FIU men's basketball's Dashon Gittens was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week presented by Blenders Eyewear, as announced by the league office on Monday, as the nod marks Gittens' second weekly honor of the season.
The recognition comes after Gittens averaged 7.7 ppg on 60.0 percent shooting and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc through FIU's three contests, including its first C-USA road victory, last week.
Additionally, Monday's nod marks the third consecutive week an FIU freshman has been named C-USA Freshman of the Week, as classmate Arturo Dean nabbed back-to-back honors the past two weeks.
