MIAMI – Freshman erupted for a career-high 23 points and was a perfect 7-of-7 from three-point range to lead the FIU men's basketball team to a resounding 77-67 win over Southern Mississippi on Thursday night at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
The Panthers, who trailed by three points at halftime, dominated the final 20 minutes of play as they shoot a sizzling 57.7 percent and outscored Southern Mississippi by 13 points in the second half.
The win improves the Panthers record on their home floor to 10-1 and marked their fifth consecutive victory at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center – where FIU will play two games over a three-day span beginning on Saturday, Feb.
