MIAMI (Oct. 17, 2018) – Under almost ideal conditions at Infinity Insurance Park, the FIU baseball team hosted over 70 professional scouts for Scout Day 2018.
"I thought it went really well. I thought our guys showcased their abilities in front of a lot of scouts." head coach Mervyl Melendez said. "They showcased themselves like true professionals."
Led by 2018 Cape Cod League Championship Series MVP Austin Shenton, FIU returns 26 players from a team that went 26-28 in the spring. A new season brings a Top-25 recruiting class as well, as the Panthers look to return to postseason play for the first time since 2015.
