FIU Golf Record-Holder Tania Tare Makes Pro Debut Thursday in LPGA Event

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND (September 27, 2017) -- Former FIU golfer Tania Tare (Auckland, New Zealand) will play in this week's LPGA Tour MCKAYSON New Zealand Women's Open, with action starting on Thursday, September 28. The four-round tournament takes place at Windross Farm in Tare's hometown of Auckland. It will be her professional tournament debut following her playing career at FIU.

Tare was invited by the tournament to play in the event after her golf trick-shot videos (search Tania Tare on YouTube or Instagram), which she shot while recovering from wrist surgeries, went viral.

Though known more recently for those amazing videos, the New Zealand native holds the FIU single-round scoring record with a 63, shot at the 6th Annual Johnie Imes Invitational on October 2, 2012.
