SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – The FIU football team was unable to overcome an early deficit as the Panthers dropped a 41-12 road decision at Texas State University on Saturday night.
Texas State opened an early 10-0 advantage over the initial 11 minutes of the opening quarter and limited the Panthers to 34 rushing yards and 127 yards of total offense in the first half.
FIU (1-1) was also 1-of-9 on third down chances over the opening 30 minutes and finished 5-of-18 for the game.
The Bobcats managed 234 yards of offense while building a 20-6 lead at the break, before finishing with a total of 452 yards, including 226 on the ground and through the air.
