MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 28, 2019) – The FIU men's basketball team closed out non-conference play with a contest against Minnesota at Williams Arena on Saturday. The Panthers fell to the Golden Gophers 89-62, snapping the team's six-game winning streak.
With the loss, FIU fell to 9-4 while Minnesota moved to 7-5 with the win.
In the opening half, the Panthers shot 33.3% from the field and trailed 38-27 when the teams headed to the locker room. FIU held Minnesota to shooting 31.6%, but 12 fouls by the Panthers resulted in 11 points from the charity stripe for the opposition.
