MIAMI (Feb. 16) - FIU dropped Saturday night's matchup with Stony Brook by a score of 7-6 after a heart breaking ninth inning at the FIU Baseball Stadium.
The Panthers' record falls to 0-2 on the young season, while Stony Brook improves to 2-0.
Stony Brook's Brandon Bonanno earned the win after pitching three and a third scorless innings. FIU's Will Saxton took the loss after allowing three runs in the ninth.
Michael Wilson led the way for Stony Brook, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a home run. FIU sophomore Seth Cannady produced a solid night at the plate, going 4-for-5 while earning two RBIs.
