MIAMI (Aug. 31, 2019) - The FIU men's soccer team concluded the season's opening weekend in perfect fashion on Saturday night, as they defeated James Madison University on the second night of a back-to-back by a score of 3-1 at FIU Soccer Stadium.
FIU now improves to 2-0 while JMU falls to 0-2 on the young season.
After game time was moved ahead 24 hours due to Hurricane Dorian, the Panthers were forced to play their second game in as many nights. FIU played admirably in a tough and physical match against a formidable JMU squad that reached the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals in 2018 after winning the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament.
