TAMPA — FIU hit a season-high seven doubles against South Florida to fuel a 6-5 win Tuesday night at USF Baseball Stadium in Tampa.
After a recent stretch where the Panthers had 55 singles among their last 62 hits, FIU (20-22) used three RBI doubles in the top of the seventh inning to rally from a 4-3 deficit to defeat USF (19-22).
Zack Soria led off the seventh with a walk and Zach Files followed with an RBI double to tie the score 4-4. Austin Rodriguez then reached base on a fielder's choice after Files was thrown out at third base by shortstop Coco Montes.
