MIAMI (Dec. 17, 2020) – Off to their best-combined start in nearly 20 years, the FIU men's and women's basketball programs have showcased an exciting brand of basketball so far this season that features two of the most smothering defenses in the country.
Wednesday was a huge night for both programs, as Jeremy Ballard's squad defeated Florida Gulf Coast, who was coming off a recent win over the Miami Hurricanes, to improve to 5-1 while first-year head coach Jesyka Burks-Wiley earned her second-straight 30-point victory to improve to 3-1 on the season.
