DAYTONA BEACH -- Left-hander Donte Lindsay allowed two runs over 7 2/3 innings to lead Bethune-Cookman past FIU, 5-3, Wednesday evening at Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach.
The win gave the Wildcats (26-21) a split of the two-game season series with the Panthers (26-21).
Danny Rodriguez hit a solo home run off FIU starter Chris Mourelle (4-3) in the second inning to put B-CU ahead 1-0. The Wildcats added two more runs on a pair of doubles off Cain Spangler in the third.
B-CU built a 5-1 lead into the eighth inning before FIU got late solo home runs by Javier Valdes and JC Escarra to narrow the deficit to two runs.
