Army defeated FIU 3-0 Friday morning to open the Gator Invitational at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville.
The Black Knights won the match by scores of 25-15, 25-20 and 25-18.
Army improved to 4-7 while FIU is now 6-4.
Margherita Bianchin and Ronja Klinger led the Panthers as each player tallied seven kills. Klinger also had eight digs while Bianchin had seven digs.
Abbie Hughes and Lina Bernier each registered double-digit numbers to pace the Panthers in assists and digs, respectively. Hughes had 20 assists and Bernier had 16 digs.
