MIAMI (March 19, 2019) – After an impressive start to the season, the FIU women's tennis pair of Basak Akbas and Kamila Umarova rank No. 64 in the latest Oracle/ITA Doubles Rankings released on Tuesday.
The ranking for the freshman pair is its first of the season, with Akbas and Umarova earning a 6-1 record overall and 4-1 mark in dual matches.
"Akbas and Umarova are raising their level of play at the right time," Head Coach Katarina Petrovic said. "I hope they continue to improve and gather experience for big things to come in the future.
