A success on the field and in the classroom during his Heisman Trophy-winning career at Florida, former Gator quarterback Danny Wuerffel was inducted into the Capital One Academic All-America Hall of Fame on Monday night in Orlando.
During his UF career (1993-96), Wuerffel was a two-time GTE Academic All-America. On the field, he led the Gators to four SEC titles and the program’s first national championship in 1996.
Wuerffel is the sixth from UF to enter the Academic Hall of Fame and the third former Gator football player, joining wide receivers Carlos Alvarez and Cris Collinsworth.
