Florida coach Dan Mullen has finalized his staff with the hiring of veteran assistant Ron English, who worked for Mullen as the safeties coach at Mississippi State this past season.
English, 49, also will coach safeties at Florida. He is a former head coach at Eastern Michigan and has been a coordinator at Michigan, Louisville and San Jose State. He also has been a secondary coach at Arizona State and San Diego State.
His hiring completes the staff of 10 assistants. English is one of five assistants who came with Mullen from Mississippi State. The others are defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales, co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach John Hevesy and running backs coach/special teams coordinator Greg Knox.
