Now that college football watch list season is over (I think), here's one takeaway you probably already knew: Tampa Bay produces a lot of great athletes.
Not just football players. Pure, raw athletes.
Just check out the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award, given to the "most versatile player in major college football." State colleges were represented (Florida receiver Antonio Callaway, Florida State safety Derwin James, Miami receiver Braxton Berrios, USF running back D'Ernest Johnson). But so was the Tampa Bay area.
There was Rutgers receiver Janarion Grant. The former Pasco High star needs only one more return touchdown to break the NCAA career record.
