Florida faced a must-win game Tuesday night against No. 22 Kentucky.
But familiar problems, poor free-throw shooting and poor perimeter shooting, plagued the Gators against the Wildcats.
Freshman guard Jamal Murray scored 18 of his 21 points in the second half, lifting Kentucky to an 88-79 win over Florida at the O'Connell Center.
The Gators (17-13, 8-9 SEC) lost their fourth straight and are playing themselves out of an NCAA Tournament bid.
Center John Egbunu scored a career-high 27 points for the Gators and senior forward Dorian Finney-Smith added 15 points, five rebounds and five assists on Senior Night.
