UF's McElwain praises player communication on first day

For a team that’s thin in some areas and may have to rely on true freshmen to contribute this season, the initial review of the newcomers is positive.

The freshmen made a good first impression on Jim McElwain, the Florida coach said after Thursday’s practice, the first of fall camp for the Gators.

“The freshmen crew that was out there for the first day, the good part is a lot of guys looked the part,” McElwain said. “It was comforting to see us break the huddle.
