Junior tailback Kelvin Taylor is doing more than transitioning to a new coaching staff and a new offense. He’s also taking on a different role with different responsibilities.
For the first time in his Florida career, he is heading into the season as the clear starter at tailback. And, being the Gators’ only experienced back now that Adam Lane is gone, he has been given the added responsibility of mentoring the two true freshmen who are expected to contribute — Jordan Scarlett and Jordan Cronkrite.
It’s a lot to take on. But Taylor said Wednesday he’s ready for the challenge.
