With preseason camp opening Thursday, here’s a preview featuring five true freshmen most likely to see playing time this season:
1. Martez Ivey, offensive tackle: With UF’s lack of numbers, depth and experience on the offensive line, this five-star recruit is going to be counted on to work his way into the playing rotation, possibly at both tackle positions and maybe even at guard. He’s an athletic lineman and he’s gained more than 30 pounds since February in anticipation of competing for immediate playing time in 2015.
2. Jordan Scarlett, tailback: Many are expecting Scarlett to not only compete for playing time, but also possibly push Kelvin Taylor for the starting role in camp.
