UF's defensive domination dampered by Del Rio injury

AP

What was expected to be a Tennessee tune-up for the Florida Gators turned into a little bit of blown engine Saturday night in The Swamp.

1. The Gators turned in one of the best defensive performances in school history, but the big news is starting quarterback Luke Del Rio left the game in the third quarter with an apparent knee injury and did not return.

2. The Gator defense overwhelmed North Texas, holding the Mean Green to a mere 53 total yards, a UF school record. The old record of 59 was set against Western Carolina in 2006.
