This week, men’s golf coach J.C. Deacon’s squad ran away from the field at the NCAA Kissimmee regional to earn a trip to the NCAA championships after a final-round collapse kept them home in 2017.
UCF, Vanderbilt, North Carolina and Kent State will join UF May 25 in Stillwater, Okla., site of the 2018 championship.
“We designed everything this year to make sure we were ready for this tournament,” Deacon said. “Forty-two-under par, a University of Florida all-time scoring record, that is pretty special and especially to do it when you need it the most.
