Mason Halter earned a degree in economics at Fordham University, so it was pretty easy for him to do the math.
The Florida Gators needed offensive linemen, while the 6-foot-8, 300-pound Halter needed a place to play this season.
On Tuesday, Halter announced on Twitter he will transfer to UF, where he hopes to augment an O-line lacking depth and experience.
“That’s one of the reasons I was very interested in Florida,” Halter said Wednesday. “They’re a little short-handed. Maybe adding one key guy, like myself, and just pulling everyone together is going to help a lot.
