OMAHA, Neb. — Runs may once again be rare in Friday's rematch between Florida and Virginia at the College World Series.
Four days after the Cavaliers (41-22) beat Florida 1-0 at TD Ameritrade Park, the teams will put their best starting pitchers on the mound.
Logan Shore (10-6, 2.55 earned-run average) will start for the Gators (51-17). He threw five innings in Florida's 15-3 win against Miami last Saturday. His opponent will be pitching on 62 days' rest.
Virginia coach Brian O'Connor told the Charlottesville Daily Progress Thursday that he'd start Nathan Kirby, the 40th pick in the Major League Baseball draft earlier this month.
