The all-time leading rusher in Tampa’s talent-rich Hillsborough County has had to recalibrate expectations at the college level, but he is finding other ways to get yards for the Gators.
Davis showcased his versatility and the depth of the Gators high-octane attack during a Nov. 7 win against Georgia. The redshirt junior led UF’s offensive explosion with a team high 100 receiving yards to match his season total on the ground.
“It’s just do whatever you can to help the team and I think things will turn out how they should," Davis said.
The acceleration, vision and wiggle he used to piled up 7,025 yards and win a 5A state championship at Tampa Jesuit were on full display as a Florida freshman.
