For several years, the perception has been that Florida lacks talent at the wide receiver position.
The statistics certainly suggested as much.
But with an offensive-minded coach now at the helm, UF’s wideouts are beginning to put that notion to rest. It’s been their goal since the offseason.
“It was definitely motivating,” wide receiver Valdez Showers said, “(people saying) we can’t produce and things like that. We don’t respond. We just continue to work our craft.”
That work has paid off this season and showed up in a big way last Saturday in the win over Ole Miss.
