UF freshman receiver James Robinson’s college football career is over before it even started.
Sidelined all season after doctors detected a heart abnormality in early September, Robinson announced on Twitter he no longer can play football.
“Hurts knowing I can’t play football again,” Robinson posted.
The Lakeland native was the too-rated offensive player in the Gators’ 2017 recruiting class. Big things were expected from the 6-foot-4, 205 Robinson, but he did not arrive to UF until early August due to academic reasons.
Cited for marijuana possession later that month, Robinson was suspended for the team’s season opener.
