Alonso hit two deep home runs in his return – one in his first at-bat – to lead the No. 1 Gators to a 9-3 win over No. 4 seed Bethune-Cookman at McKethan Stadium in the Gainesville Regional.
The junior first baseman’s power was a welcome return to Florida’s lineup as he finished the night 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI, three runs scored and a walk.
