Two Florida sports programs were recognized for a significant academic achievement Wednesday.
The Florida men’s basketball team and women’s tennis team received public recognition by the NCAA for posting Academic Progress Rate (APR) in the top-10 percent in their respective sports.
The UF men’s basketball team was recognized for being in the top-10 percent for the third straight year. The Gators are the only SEC men’s basketball program to be recognized three years in a row since the APR was instituted in 2003.
The Gator women’s tennis team was recognized for the second straight year.
The APR is a tool the NCAA uses to evaluate academic performance.
