GAINESVILLE — With flowing locks, chiseled arms and an air of confidence, offensive lineman Ethan White is unrecognizable from the kid who arrived at UF two summers ago.
“Oh, man. I still can’t ...” Richard Gouraige said, pausing to find the right words about his 6-foot-5, 319-pound teammate. “I can remember him walking on campus and like (now), ‘Who is this guy?’”
The Gators hope White, the starter at left guard two years removed from weighing close to 400 pounds, symbolizes a unit looking to transform itself.
“I came here to be coached,” White said. “It’s always nice when you see your work pay off.
