Florida’s defense received some good news Monday with the announcement that outside linebacker Jarrad Davis is returning for his senior season.
Safety Marcus Maye also is expected to return, according to sources, although there has been nothing official yet from him or the school.
Both juniors were contemplating an early exit to the NFL, but will remain with the Gators.
The deadline for declaring for the draft is Monday at midnight. If Maye does return, UF ends up with five underclassmen leaving early — cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III, tailback Kelvin Taylor, safety Keanu Neal, defensive end Alex McCalister and wide receiver Demarcus Robinson.
