Florida’s football team added yet another offensive player to its 2016 recruiting class Friday.
Theodore, Ala., running back Lamical Perine verbally committed to UF, his dream school growing up.
“I’ve rooted for Florida all my life,” he said. “I really became a heavy fan when (Tim) Tebow got there. I’m just ready to be a Gator.”
The 5-foot-11, 211-pounder was offered Thursday night by running backs coach Tim Skipper, who has recruited Perine for several months.
The three-star prospect visited Florida for junior day and a summer camp last year, riding a Greyhound bus by himself to make it to the session.
