UF Football Notebook: Jordan's family home sustains hurricane damage

Florida offensive guard Tyler Jordan’s family had a scary and serious brush with Hurricane Matthew last Friday in Jacksonville, including a tree coming down on an occupied house.

“I had some family who probably live about 10 to 15 minutes away from me there sitting in a room as a tree fell down into the room,” he said. “It took out part of the brick fence and pretty much totally damaged the whole room. They’re going to have to get that all fixed up.”

Jordan, who was in Gainesville, said he had a hard time getting through to his parents on the telephone, but finally heard from them Friday afternoon.
