OMAHA, Neb. — It took a while for Florida’s offense to catch fire the last time it played Miami, but Wednesday the outburst was immediate.
Florida hit two home runs in the first inning and four total during its 10-2 College World Series win.
Miami (50-17) was eliminated from the tournament, while the Gators, who went 4-1 against Miami this season, advanced to a rematch with Virginia Friday at 3 p.m.
It was the first time more than two home runs were hit in a game at TD Ameritrade Park, home of the CWS during the past five years.
