UF quarterback Kyle Trask handled the news Friday he would be Feleipe Franks’ backup the way coach Dan Mullen had hoped.
Mullen said Trask arrived to Monday’s practice eager to prepare to lead the Gators if needed during Saturday night’s season opener against Charleston Southern in the Swamp.
“He's out there trying to immerse himself in the game plan, understand he's one snap away from being out there on the field,” Mullen said Wednesday. “He's got to be ready for that opportunity when it comes and be ready to lead the team.”
Mullen said practices are set up to allow the second team its share of repetitions with the upcoming game plan.
