Florida picked up a potential impact transfer Monday when Canyon Barry agreed to commit to the Gators.
A versatile swingman, the 6-foot-6 Barry averaged 19.7 points per game for College of Charleston last season before missing the final two months of the year after undergoing shoulder surgery. He’s the son of Basketball Hall of Famer Rick Barry.
As a graduate transfer, Barry is eligible to play immediately next basketball season as a fifth-year senior.
“He told us this morning that he was going to decide on Florida,” Rick Barry said.
