The cost of running Florida Gators’ athletics continues to rise at a rapid rate.
The University Athletic Association approved a $6 million budget increase on Monday, raising the budget for Gators’ sports to $128.2 million in the first year of new athletic director Scott Stricklin.
In 2013-14, the athletic department’s budget cracked $100 million for the first time.
This includes $25.46 million to run the football program, $14 million in scholarship funding, $6.88 for men’s basketball and $17.6 million for UF’s other sports programs. The UAA budgeted $19.2 million for student support services.
