Florida starting offensive tackle Mason Halter and reserve linebacker Anthony Harrell have been suspended from the Citrus Bowl, ending the UF careers of the two graduate transfers.
The school did not reveal the reason for the suspensions, but a Sun source said they were academically related.
Halter, a graduate transfer from Fordham, started all 13 games for the Gators this season, 12 at right tackle and one at left. He likely will be replaced in the starting lineup by true freshman Fred Johnson.
Harrell, who transferred from Georgia Tech, played on special teams, but did not see any action on defense this season.
