Florida quarterback-turned-wide receiver Treon Harris no longer is a member of the Florida football program. He has received his release and will transfer.
His departure is not surprising. He never would have seen another meaningful snap at Florida, and a positive for coaches is that his departure opens up another scholarship.
Harris (5 feet 11, 201 pounds) started 15 games at quarterback in his UF career, but while he is a good athlete, he was not an SEC-caliber quarterback. He ran for 570 yards and three TDs, and threw for 2,695 yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
