It marks the first time for Georgia’s Kirby Smart as a head coach in the rivalry.
“From an experience standpoint, you’ve got to go with Coach (Jim McElwain),” Matthews said. “But as you mentioned, Kirby (Smart) knows all about this rivalry, this game, playing in it. There’s got to be some pressure on his side, coming off a loss at home, for homecoming, to Vanderbilt.
